However, despite their invaluable contributions, women often face barriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential.

Since 2021, the Women in Seafood Australia (WISA) organization has conducted extensive research, shedding light on the challenges women face within the Australian Seafood Industry. This research has uncovered numerous barriers, from limited access to leadership roles to systemic biases and disparities.

SheSea was born from the determination of a diverse group of women working within the seafood industry, who recognized the need to break down these barriers and empower women to take on leadership roles. We are here to redefine the status quo, to create a level playing field where women can thrive, succeed, and lead.
